Dog rescue programs are readily available in most areas of the country and are wonderful places to find the right pet. If you go with a pure bred dog from a breeder, then you will probably pay thousands for the dog but you will be getting the exact breed you want and the ability to show and breed your pet with the possibility of making some money. The newest theft scam is for a person or a group of people to steal several dogs and, then, using a fake business name, represent themselves as a rescue group.
They can be very helpful in drug detection, rescue operations, in hunting and as guide dogs. Rescues that make a concerted effort to save dogs from euthanasia at shelters are more people friendly and understand that their first goal needs to be getting these animals into loving homes.
