Arizona is seeking to help find a home for the greyhound dogs bred for dog racing. Rescue shelters provide a safe environment and care until the right family comes along. If you find Labrador Retriever puppies in an animal shelter, chances are good that the staff knows little about them. We rescue pugs and provide them medical care, loving attention, comfort, balanced food, companionship, and eventually a loving forever home.
Although many are reluctant to take on an adult dog from adoption, these animals are often the best possible option. Adopting a dog is a big decision. The time of the process (from meeting an animal to finalizing the adoption paperwork) will take longer than it typically does at the ARLGP because we will be processing a high volume of adoptions.
You need to consider whether this is the appropriate time to adopt a pet. Now we all need to remember, and most of you reading this who are experienced fosters know that these animals generally come from very harsh circumstances that were of no fault of their own.
A few weeks ago a kind lady came to us looking for a puppy for adoption. If you have been looking to introduce a new, young pup into your family, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet some great dogs. I fostered dogs for 10 years, and although I don’t foster anymore I am the doggie therapist for those midnight 911 calls from our wonderful foster parents to ”˜talk them through the madness’.
